Neil Young - Hitchhiker
This is a song of his that’s been kicking around for years. I’ve heard a couple of live versions from tours 20 years ago or so (or maybe 30, I’m not sure), and the lyrics are pretty much exactly the same as they are here.
But he seriously nails it here. His new album, Le Noise, has to be his most interesting in a long, long time. It doesn’t quite sound like any other record he’s done, save for moments that recall the sonic freak-outs of Weld.
Whenever Neil has a new album on the way, I’m always skeptical. Color me impressed, Mr. Young.
